Additional information

Three movies. One legend. It is your golden opportunity to have it all in this
box set featuring the 3 movies of one of the most acclaimed Korean directors-
Lee Chang-dong. Coming along with the movies is Special Disc featuring
``Behind the Films`` and other extras. No true movie lovers can afford to miss
this priceless ``Lee Chang Dong Collection``.

As an award-winning novelist, screenwriter and director, Lee Chang-dong`s
career has followed a fascinating trajectory, moving away from the
immediately political towards an internalized, psychologized critique of, and
disillusionment, with society.

In 1997, Lee directed his debut movie ``Green Fish`` which starred Han Seok-
gyu as a young man who becomes tragically involved with the mafia. This
inaugural project was screened at the 3rd Pusan International Film Festival
(PIFF) and won the Alkan Dragons & Tigers Award at the 16th Vancouver
Film Festival. While this film gained him critical attention, it was his next
masterwork ``Peppermint Candy`` that pushed him into the spotlight of the
domestic film world in 2000. It is a highly stylized film about one man`s
demise and it accurately reflects the desperation felt by many during a
tumultuous period in the nation `s history. Lee amazed the world in his third
work ``Oasis`` featuring a love story between two mentally-challenged
outcasts. Lee`s instinctive narrative clarity and astute observation of social
reality won him the Special Director`s Award at the 59th Venice International
Film Festival.
